How I Got Hired
29. Lee Andrese: Teacher, Trucker, Rancher, Recruiter
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy was a famous book written by the great novelist John le Carre.
Inspired by that title, today's episode has a special guest who has hired talent for the Intelligence community and has reinvented her own career many times over.
Lee Andrese has had a phenomenal career as a secondary school teacher, a cowgirl and tractor trailer driver, before moving to Talent Aquisition!
Over her career, Lee has personally filled 3000 positions at Fortune 100 companies and trained 2000 recruiters.
Previously, she served as the head of the Aquent Studios’ Government practice introducing innovative solutions to attract talent for the US Federal Government, Civilian and DoD agencies, including the Intelligence Community.
So, how did Lee get there?
Listen to learn all about career reinvention.
In this juicy episode, Lee talks about:
- an incident that changed her career outlook, very early in her life
- what made her change her name in college
- how she made the change from high school teacher to heading a staffing business
- why she showed up to an important interview in crutches (and what followed)
- how she carved a niche in hiring for the intelligence community
- what prompted her to leave her employer after 21 years and start out on her own
- and much more
Don't even think about missing this episode!
