47. Nida Januskis: Keep Advancing!
Qui n'avance pas, recule. – (S)He who doesn’t advance, goes backwards
- French Proverb
Incidentally, my guest today is also based in France. Nida Januskis is the Associate Dean of Advancement at INSEAD, the world’s #1 business school as per the Financial Times 2021 MBA ratings. What about Harvard Business School? Well. Nida has worked there as well!
Starting her career as a financial analyst and asset manager, Nida has successfully pivoted her career to work at the very top of the food chain in the Education sector. Her versatile career has seen her change her industry, geography and even function. And in this podcast, she shares with you how she did it.
In this fascinating conversation, Nida talks about how:
- She turned a NO for a job at Harvard Business School to a yes: learn her anti-rejection strategy that could help you as well.
- How she got back to a full-time career after a 4-year pause
- How she created a new position out of nothing, as a trailing spouse
- What she did when a role opened up that was several levels senior to hers and how she made herself feel ready for it
- How France 24 (France’s largest broadcast news network) invited Nida to speak on national television and the best advice she received from the host of the program to calm her nerves
This is a must listen for all of you who are coming back from a career pause or contemplating a major career change.
